Quick Dave Schultz story. Thanks! That was a labor of love. So much custom work and parts and lots of money to go that slow…
Story time. We were at an all bike race at Muncie, right before the US Nationals. Dave Schultz was there testing. I built my bike to be a small tire scaled down version of his. He was my hero. His rig was parked in the staging lanes. When I rolled past to make a run, he saw it and jumped out of the trailer to check it out. He thought it was a cool bike. I was so proud. It would be like if you had a cool Chevy and Lee Shepard liked it.
I believe that was me. I remember that story. Very cool. He was a great guy. I think I was at that race too. Was that the year they had a ton of rain and the pits flooded?Quick Dave Schultz story.
I was at the spring nationals in Columbus Ohio in the early 1990's . I had a nice embroidered Sunoco racing fuels hat that I was wearing ,no idea where I got it . I was walking buy the pro stock bike pits and he was sitting on the back of his trailer . He says" hay where did you get that hat " I stopped took the hat off my head , looked at it ( to check what hat I had on ) . He said " Sunoco sponsors me and I don't even have a hat that nice" I tossed it to him and said " now you do" he took the hat off his head , signed it and tossed it to me.
I think I told you this story before ,or it was someone else who built a bike that looked like his .
Yes it was.I believe that was me. I remember that story. Very cool. He was a great guy. I think I was at that race too. Was that the year they had a ton of rain and the pits flooded?
I remember him belly aching about the owner when he was building the piping on this car.My turbo 2v set up for some heads up stuff. Getting close to finishing it. Bobby has had a huge hand in the fab work of course.

We stayed with my cousin in his camper. Got up the next day to leave. My truck was sunk to the axles. Had to get a tractor to pull us out. Small world.Yes it was.
That was a ton of rain. We were across the street from the track in the camping area in a friend's camper
