Squarebody resurrection.

Prepping the firewall for paint and found rot I wasn't expecting. Ruined my day. This was the hardest patch I've ever undertaken and I get to do it again on the other side yay.

Well that was tedious but it's done. Just need to do some dress up grinding and some spots to fill but all the hard work is done. Can move onto the firewall now.

Engine and trans cleaned up and all unbolted ready to lift out and slide into the truck. Ran out of time, have to go to church and then do Christmas with the in laws

In an absolutely stunning turn of events the transmission crossmember was perfect. I don't recall the last swap I did that didn't need a modification to the trans mount. It just dropped right in.

Had to modify the left down pipe. It did shoot right at the frame but now it doesn't. I'll build off of this as I go and reuse as much of the stock stuff as possible.

Ok exhaust is done. Used a combo of the stock pipes with pipes I had laying around and threw a set of spare mufflers on it. They will probably be to loud but I'll deal with that later. Also started putting in Rattle trap mat, ran out gotta buy more. This was the left over from the 65

Modified the dash for a double din radio. I took the dash and bezel from the bucket truck for testing. When I get the parts for my truck I'll trim the small radio hole out of it.

Not much to see. Finished the rattletrap, painted some pieces, blocked the fresh air intake on the pass side. Wire wheeled a bunch of rust off the brake pedal brackets and pedal. Painted all that and the steering column. More on that later.

Well today was back to work. I only work 1/2 day on Fridays so I got on the truck when I got home. Hangers came in so the exhaust is finished, new gas tank is in, steering column and brake pedal, booster and master cylinder installed. Brakes work, truck steers. Big shout out to Low and Slow for the column. I made mention I was looking for one and he went out and yanked one from a parts truck and sent it to me on his dime. Good dude.

Lots of tedious wiring going on. Nothing to really show but I did modify the dash and installed my gauges. The speedometer is for looks. I just didn't want an empty hole. The transmission is not mechanical, so I'll have to get a GPS speedometer, I will eventually go to the black Autometer Gages, but for budgetary concerns, I'm mixing gages for the time being l o l.

Well the seat from the 65 failed. Too tall and too far forward so I stole the seat from the bucket truck. Made a foam repair then decided to take the rubber mat from the bucket truck too. Starting to look good in there.
