Too hot?Not been doing anything.
Required here at my track. I wouldn't make a pass without one required or not.Jacked it up and thought about putting this engine diaper on it.
Its required here at a certain ET or MPH not sure what they are but I know I have to have one. I was only 60ft testing so I wasn't worried for safety so much before. I'll have it on before any real hits happen. I also don't want to oil the track if something did happen.Required here at my track. I wouldn't make a pass without one required or not.
What diaper do you have? I just have the generic ones on both my cars and the fit is so -so. Would rather have one that is form fitted. Also Neither one cover the oil filter which I think should be included in the coverage. Its required here at a certain ET or MPH not sure what they are but I know I have to have one. Its a Stroud Nylon SFI 7.2 Engine Diaper. Really nice looking piece but I haven’t installed it yet. I know from the picture on their website it covers the entire front of the pan unlike some I have seen. I don’t know about the oil filter yet though. If I was guessing I would think it does. It seems large. What diaper do you have? I just have the generic ones on both my cars and the fit is so -so. Would rather have one that is form fitted. When IHRA made the diaper rule I ordered a semi- custom diaper , they asked for engine type , type of car , stock frame or chassis , ect . It was not a full custom made diaper but supposedly a better fit than a " one size fits all" diaper. The thing came with nylon straps, the straps that pass by the headers lasted about 10 minutes before they melted . I sent it back to get Kevlar straps put in their place and have not had a problem with melting straps since.. It was not a low budget diaper so I would think Kevlar straps in the header area should have been standered especially on a stock frame car where headers are a tight fit.Jacked it up and thought about putting this engine diaper on it.
I agree some straps that don't melt would be a great start. Not sure what the straps are made of but these are semi specific. Meaning you have to select what engine and if its a wet sump. I know there were quite a few options. I also know it was over $400 for this one so being almost 3 times the price of many others. Using that logic and it was Stroud brand I hope its gonna be like a glove. When IHRA made the diaper rule I ordered a semi- custom diaper , they asked for engine type , type of car , stock frame or chassis , ect . Come on man.....don't you have any faith in your machine shop and or engine builder?Required here at my track. I wouldn't make a pass without one required or not.

Let me know how you like it . I bought some extra diaper pads separately from summit and Tucked them in around the sides of my 10 quart pan , that’s a lot of oil to soak up .Its a Stroud Nylon SFI 7.2 Engine Diaper. I’ll try this evening after work to start on it. I’ll also see about pictures and post up what happens on my build thread here.Let me know how you like it .
